Since treats really do brighten our mood (momentarily), it's just no wonder we give in to them. I am still trying to have a mindset that the slips are a part of the process.

How is Points Plus going?Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10950451908465207387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-19013875721375803402011-03-22T21:01:57.835-07:002011-03-22T21:01:57.835-07:00I think it's important to blog about our tilts...I think it's important to blog about our tilts because perhaps we'll get so sick of reporting them we won't tilt anymore (wishful thinking?). Actually, I do think it helps though by getting us to realize the why's and just how much it didn't really satisfy. Next time you're going for a tilt think - POP TART - yuck :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-30066548560626055872011-03-22T19:43:26.408-07:002011-03-22T19:43:26.408-07:00Oh my dear kindred bloggin soul - I too succumbed ...Oh my dear kindred bloggin soul - I too succumbed to the son's poptarts recently. I think it was the end of last week, or maybe the week before. One binge blurs into the next over time. My teen has the chocolate fudge variety. Funny how they taste so much better in my imagination yet I keep eating until both of the offending pastries are gone, leaving nothing but crumbs and remorse. If only I could rid my house of all foods that I should not eat or would overeat. Sigh.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15086719828916510651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-67555558285435379542011-03-22T18:46:46.262-07:002011-03-22T18:46:46.262-07:00started to write a comment and then lost it. First , brown sugar cinnamon poptarts toasted WITH butter were my thing (have not had in years-- just can't go there again".

So, About feeling tired of going through the cycle of slips. You have much more time and experience working the 12 steps than I do, but I just read part of the AA big book yesterday ( the first few pages of chapter 3-by accident .I realized after a while I had marked my place wrong and was a few chapters ahead. But what I read is just about this..the cycles we go through ..do good, slip, do bad, do better, etc etc...Just a thought. Also, I've been getting repeated messages from the Universe in the form of meditations, movie lines, conversations that basically says the same thing: If you want to hear God laugh, say YOUR plans out loud. Just passing it along..thanks for your comment today, I haven't had many comments lately and felt weird about it...PJ Geekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16550278783075004470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-83768343690922142322011-03-22T18:14:27.324-07:002011-03-22T18:14:27.324-07:00MMMMM....strawberry Pop-Tarts. And we all regret it later. And most of us beat ourselves up over it, too, because we know what we just did (and we didn't really even enjoy it). But...tomorrow is another day. One voluntary slip-up shouldn't bring the whole house of cards down. Shrug it off, hide those Pop Tarts, and get a move on doing the good stuff again. :)Chubby McGeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01314736525363564330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-24036394907962148062011-03-22T14:11:06.761-07:002011-03-22T14:11:06.761-07:00Never did like the sugar-coated ones. I keep Hershey's Milk Chocolate Nuggets™ on hand. They are 45 calories each. After dinner, I take one, un-wrap it, and bite slivers off, one at a time, and then proceed to manuever it to the roof of my mouth, close my eyes, and slowly suck on that tiny sliver of chocolate. When it's fully melted, I repeat with another sliver. I can make that 45 calories last several minutes; and my sugar/chocolate craving is totally satisfied because of HOW I eat it.

Might want to give it a whirl. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9172726268459163555.post-63776992842223332322011-03-22T11:52:37.815-07:002011-03-22T11:52:37.815-07:00Other than I can't abide Pop Tarts, I have had...Other than I can't abide Pop Tarts, I have had the "gee, it's there, I shall eat it for no reason than it's there..." Right now, there are some Girl Scout Cookies that I would feed to the dog if they didn't have chocolate on them. So I fed them to Husband instead. :D

You'll get there, Just stay outta the pantry after dinner! ;)

CatCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16085463730809297977noreply@blogger.com
