Gray is the color of my true love's hair

Okay - here are my newest gray hair shots.  I have major issues with my looks (thanks, MOM) that have nothing to do with weight, so this is difficult.  But in the spirit of full disclosure - here you go.  The last cut that I was sure would snip away the last vestiges of dyed hair actually still left just the faintest wisps at the end of my bangs.  I think you can see that in the pics.  (BTW- my first post about the decision to go gray is here.)

Full frontal - YIKES!

Left side:

Please disregard what appears (?!) to be a double chin.  The camera put it there :)

This was taken the day I wrote the post last week about an upcoming haircut.  More dyed wisps evident.

And this is the book from which I've been reading and formulating my thoughts on and a plan for my own abstinence.  It WILL be done tomorrow.

Now I'll have to compose myself for showing my face on national tv!

  4. The color of your hair is beautiful! Waiting to hear your plan. It sounds like you're going the OA route. Good for you--taking steps to deal with this. You are an inspiration.

  5. Your hair is truly beautiful, I actually think you look younger than when you dyed it.

  7. Leslie, it looks great. If I thought my gray looked that shiny and pretty, I'd do it. How did you know that your natural color was all gone? I've been dying mine for years. I know the roots on top come in silvery but am pretty sure that the back of my head is still dark.

  8. HA! The other Karen said exactly what I was going to say! I once wrote an article about women "going gray" and how it makes them look so much younger when they just go an embrace it! FABU!

  10. You look great!!! I love grey hair when it looks so good.
As mine transitions, I am keeping it blonde.
Then, when the time is right, I shall shave my head,
and go hiking about the Grand Canyon for a few weeks.
When I come back - VIOLA! A lovely shade of silver.
    Love it!

  14. Your hair looks very pretty! I keep dyeing mine at home and, instead of being my normal dark brown, I'm suddenly ending up nearly black. You just KNOW that looks good when I'm 51! As a long time OA-er, of course, I'm thrilled that you're formulating an abstinence that makes sense to you. I'd also like to recommend the Lifeline book and the OA "Brown" Book (just called Overeaters Anonymous) which we consider to be our stories. Like if the first 164 pages of the BB is for everyone (not that the entire thing isn't for everyone) the OA Brown Book contains our personal stories of recovery. I love those two books the best. They can be found used on half.com and Amazon easily. Best wishes!

  15. I LOVE your hair--color and cut! So flattering. LOL at the double chin comment. I'm having a hard time with the whole 'aging face' thing right now.
